For your move with TSR, we provide all the boxes and packing materials you need free of charge. Delivered two to three weeks before moving day, they give you time to pack without rushing.
We plan material delivery for your move in Basel or new home in Binningen together with your moving date.

Start with the things you use least and leave everyday essentials until last. We help you estimate the number of boxes and choose suitable materials for your belongings.
After the move, you have one month to unpack in your new home before we collect the boxes. There is no need to empty every box on your first evening.

A little planning helps
The right box makes packing easier.
Keep heavy items in smaller boxes and use larger boxes for lighter belongings. Leave enough room for protective material, but fill gaps so the contents cannot move around.
Label each box with its destination room and a short description. Mark fragile contents clearly and keep documents, medication and valuables with you.

Pack yourself, or leave part of it to us.
You can pack your whole home yourself or ask us to take care of selected rooms and fragile items. Our packing service is an optional addition; we agree the scope with you beforehand.

Tips for packing yourself
Pack well. Unpack with ease.
Work room by room at your own pace. These tips help you stay organised. We plan the material quantities, transport and carrying routes for you.
Get your supplies ready and make a gentle start
- We deliver the boxes and packing materials you need free of charge. Keep a marker handy and ask us to show you how to assemble and close the boxes when they arrive.
- Start with things you rarely use, such as decorations, seasonal clothing or books.
- Pack only what is coming with you. Keep items for donating or sorting out separate.
- Ask us about suitable wrapping for unusual or delicate pieces. We can help you prepare them.
Pack and label room by room
- Keep belongings from each room together where possible. Label the top and one side with the destination room and contents, for example “Kitchen: cups and plates”.
- Use smaller boxes for heavy items. Spread books across several boxes and follow the stated load limit.
- Place heavier items at the bottom and lighter ones on top. Fill gaps with packing paper to reduce movement inside.
- Fill boxes so they close fully and keep the handholds clear.
Wrap glasses, dishes and delicate belongings
- Pad the bottom of the box and wrap glasses and dishes individually in packing paper.
- Place individually padded plates upright in a suitable box. Cushion the spaces between them and the top of the contents.
- Keep fragile pieces from touching each other directly and avoid placing heavy objects on top.
- Clearly mark boxes containing delicate items. Discuss large mirrors, pictures or special pieces with us beforehand.
Keep packed boxes organised
- Place finished boxes in a dry area of their room. Keep doors, stairs and walkways clear.
- Stack only closed, sturdy boxes, with heavier ones below and lighter ones above. Keep stacks low and stable.
- Keep boxes with delicate contents separate and clearly marked.
- Our team carries boxes to the vehicle and secures the load. You do not need to move them into the stairwell yourself.
Keep first-day essentials close
- Pack a bag with a change of clothes, toiletries, a charger and the things you will need straight after arrival.
- Keep identification, keys, medication, important documents and personal valuables with you.
- For children, keep familiar toys and first-night essentials within easy reach.
- Mark a box of essential kitchen items “Open first”.
Take your time unpacking at your new home
- We place boxes in the agreed rooms. Start with what you need for your first meal, the bathroom and the night.
- Then unpack room by room. Decorations and rarely used items can wait.
- Keep empty boxes dry in a clear space and handle them with care so we can reuse them.
- You have a month after moving to unpack. We then collect the boxes from you.
After moving day
We collect the boxes once you have unpacked.
Settle in first. You have one month to unpack, then we arrange collection with you. Keep the boxes dry and in good condition so they can be used again.
Keep hallways and entrances clear while you unpack. Gather the empty boxes in an accessible place and let us know when they are ready for collection.
